Have you ever been suckered in, only to regret it?
Like the call of the siren’s haunting melodies luring unsuspecting sailors to their doom, this exhibition explores the seduction of power, treasures and lust; the act of restraint, and the sting of deception.
The call of the siren’s song is an alluring enchantment, waywardly steering you off course into deceptive, treacherous territory.
Artists, including members of the SICK AF Collective, Nysiztor Studio and selected LODESTAR workshop participants, explore the melodious call of the siren in this multi-disciplinary contemporary art and craft exhibition; timed to coincide with IOTA27.
Mythology, the human psyche and contemporary issues are examined, with a diversity in approach and materiality, in this cautionary tale of restraint and temptation.

LODESTAR
LODESTAR is a pre-exhibition SICK AF Collective ‘Art Workshop in a Box’ program delivered in the year leading up to SIREN SONG.
Developed by the SICK AF Collective in collaboration with Krysallis Healing Centre, the program invites participants to explore creativity as a means of maintaining identity, meaning and connection through periods of illness, change, caring and uncertainty.
Accessible and self-paced, the workshops combine materials, prompts and online content that can be undertaken at home or in community settings.
LODESTAR extends participation beyond the exhibition and creates lasting opportunities for learning, reflection and exchange.
