WEAKNESS

People with FND report limb weakness it can be an arm or a leg. This weakness and numbness can create issues walking, a person can find themselves dragging the effected leg behind. If it is an arm that is affected it can be difficult to hold things and you can drop things due to this weakness. This weakness can be sporadic during a day or as the day nears the end some people report weakness is tied to the fatigue levels of getting through the day.

Another way functional weakness can impact a person is feeling one sided body weakness, which is downright scary, it can mimic a stroke and this needs to be ruled out, however FND can most definitely cause this issue.

For some with FND holding your head up can become an arduous task, weakness within the neck muscles feels as though your head is a bowling ball. Numbness also isn’t limited to just the limbs a person can feel sensations of numbness anywhere.
