Guided Making: Care / Repetition / Belonging

Task (15–60 min):
Making space through care with gentle actions.

Instructions:

Exercise 1: Gather a Sense of Home
Collect three objects, materials, or textures that feel familiar or comforting.

These might be:

• wool, fabric, leaves, paper
• something handmade
• something worn or repaired
• something that reminds you of a place or person

Arrange them together.

Observe:
• What do they have in common?
• What memories or feelings do they carry?

Exercise 2: Work Through Repetition
Spend five to ten minutes repeating one simple action:
• wrap thread or string
• braid wool
• fold paper
• make the same mark repeatedly
• stitch, weave, or knot
• draw the same shape over and over

Prompt:
What happens when you allow the process to set the pace?

There is no finished outcome to aim for. Notice how repetition changes your attention.
