Guided Making: Creativity as Connection
Task (5–40 min, paced)
Consider creativity as connection rather than performance.
Instructions:
Exercise 1: Shared Knowledge
Think of something creative you learned from another person.
Write down:
• who taught you
• what they shared
• how that knowledge continues through you.
Exercise 2: Listen to Place
Spend five quiet minutes outdoors or near a window.
Notice:
• sounds
• movements
• weather
• birds
• plants
• shadows.
Record three observations through words, sketches or photographs.
Exercise 3: Collective Mapping
Create a simple map of connections in your life.
Include:
• people
• animals
• places
• communities
• memories.
Consider how these relationships support your wellbeing.
Exercise 4: Make Slowly
Choose an activity that can be done without rushing.
Draw, write, photograph, stitch, or simply observe.
Allow yourself to move at the pace that feels right.
